It's official: I'm disgusting

via flickr

So this cold/crud thing is getting really old. I'm under so many layers of sinus pressure that I can't even hear my phone ring, and I've just been pretending to participate in conversations -

You: "Could you bring cookies to an upcoming church social?"
Me: "I love that movie!"

- As a result, I may have committed myself to a few important things that I'm not responsible to remember, so don't call and complain. I won't hear your criticism anyway.

I also can't taste anything very well, which has ruined my favorite hobby and potential occupation: competitive eating. The only way to cut through the mucus is to eat extremely spicy foods, which I already enjoy.

Last night, AFTER dinner, I suddenly turned to Mr. Dub, who was on the phone, and barked, "Go to Taco Bell and get me as many fire sauce packets as possible!" Knowing my gastronomic rage, he said little, put on his coat and left, phone call intact.

He returned with two bean burritos and nine sauce packets. I slurped that stuff right up. I could have had more.

This morning, I'm craving jalapeño poppers.

It's pretty gross, I know, but a girl deserves to taste her food.

I also think they should add a symptom on WebMD under the listing "not sick enough for antibiotics": ability to consume massive amounts of mediocre salsa.

ugh, i have a cold too and can't taste anything. i was thinking yesterday, that since i can't taste anything, i should eat really healthy food like squash mixed with blueberries or something. but no, i still just eat sugar cookies and eggos. woe is me.

Oh no! I realy want you to get better! I'm sure you didn't post this for unsolicited advice, but if anything I tell you helps speed up recovery, I'll take that chance. I find that ODing on vitamin C, drinking tons of water, and avoiding dairy helps me get rid of sinus problems. And recently, due to most medications being a "no-no," I've used a netti pot and it worked wonders for me with no medicinial hangovers/side effects. Whatever your recovery path--I hope it's speedy!!!

I'll bring you some Dave's Insanity Sauce. That'll cure what ails you.

(No connection to anyone you know and their level of insanity is implied in this message.)
